War of the Seasons
The eastbound winds, driving hard from the Midwest,

Chug grey wintry clouds that slice through

The Chrysler Building’s stainless-steel spire.

Like giant freight trains, the clouds lumber by endlessly.

Between the darkened rail cars of winter’s last run

Shoot sunbursts through holes of blue that cause squints as the

Arrows of light ricochet off the majestic tower and into
unguarded eyes.

The immense clouds—battling trains—fire huge bursts of snow
and hail

Against the angry dueling skies, inspiring wonder as the
seasons joust

For control of the world above the city.
