We don’t kick or shoot a ball, swing a bat, or slap the puck.
We don’t race or ride, keep score, or have coaches.
We don’t win or lose, work with teammates, or seek the
admiration of fans.
We pump and we pump; we simply pump.
We pump our biceps, chest, quads, lats, delts, and triceps.
We pump with our calves and glutes and hamstrings and abs.
We keep pumping and pumping and pumping, until
We just can’t pump anymore.
Someone will ask: “Why do you pump like this?”
We answer this question with a question: “What else is there?”
“The pump is the pump! There is nothing but the pump!”
All things begin and end with the pump.
Sunrise, the morning, the day and the night, and everything
which occurs in between Compresses into one motion, one
feeling
One set, one last rep, and one final burn.
Problems get smaller, successes get larger.
Our eyes open wider and our minds get sharper.
Things become clearer.
We stand taller, we hold our heads higher, and we walk with a
bounce.
We breathe easy and speak clearly and take on every challenge
with confidence.
So, why pump?
Why on earth would we stop pumping?
